Background

Context

Pro Stra Projects Ltd Ltd was first established in 2017 to fill the gap in managing resources in the construction industry created by the public sector’s efforts of responding to the socio-economic challenges in the country. These challenges are due to the huge task on improving both the quality and quantity of basic infrastructure such as schools, clinics, hospitals, roads and civil infrastructure etc, mostly in the black communities, whilst not allowing the existing infrastructure to deteriorate. Compounding the challenges is the need to create opportunities for black entrepreneurs to lead the major backlog in infrastructure implementation, as the result of:

  1. Black construction companies that have been appointed and lack the required professional technical expertise or support.
  2. Companies not having access to building material or building material being too expensive and thus resulting in short, changing the government by procuring very substandard building material that compromises the final end product.
  3. Lack of finance followed by the withdrawal of contracts by the government because of non-delivery.
  4. Companies do not have administrative, business & management skills needed for operating a successful business.
  5. Failure caused by lack of adequate economies of scale as most of the companies are one man shows and lack the bargaining power.
